Just two years after his first NCHA Futurity win riding stallion Colonel Lil, Joe Heim jumped to the top of the super champion lists in the cutting discipline by repeating what he had done previously but riding another champion named Docs Okie Quixote. Son of Doc Quixote and Jimmette Too, the stallion together with Joe scored a total score of 219. The couple won.

Docs Okie Quixote was raised by Joice Heim who was also its owner.

This was just the beginning for the pair before winning the Super Stakes and NCHA Derby to become the second Triple Crown winner after Smart Little Lena.
